YouTuber James Stephen âJimmyâ Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, filed a trademark application for âMrBeast Financial,â a planned platform offering cryptocurrency exchange, payment processing, and financial services.
Trademark Application
The filing, submitted by Donaldsonâs Beast Holdings, is downloadable software for cryptocurrency exchange, payment processing, financial education, microfinance lending, investment banking, and insurance services.
However, launching such a platform would require significant regulatory approvals in the U.S. This means that MrBeast Financial would need to register as a money services business with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), secure money transmitter licenses in individual states, and potentially gain approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), depending on its operations.
As of writing, there is no public record of Donaldson or Beast Holdings filing regulatory applications with FinCEN, the SEC, or the CFTC, which would be required to operate certain financial services in the U.S.
If approved, the new filing would expand Beast Holdingsâ growing intellectual property portfolio, which currently includes 52 registered trademarks such as MrBeast Burger, MrBeast Gaming, Feastables (MrBeast Bar), and MrBeast Philanthropy. Conversely, it must be noted that not all of these trademarks have been translated into active products or services.
Currently, the trademark for MrBeast Financial has yet to be assigned to an examiner by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
MrBeast Financial
According to the USPTO filing, MrBeast Financial is intended to cover a downloadable mobile app that would offer:
- Cryptocurrency exchange services
- Payment processing
- Banking and investment services
- Insurance products
- Financial education and microfinance lending
- Crypto trading via decentralized exchanges
The trademark suggests MrBeast is exploring a multiservice fintech and crypto platform, potentially combining elements of a crypto exchange, digital bank, and financial wellness app.
Who is MrBeast?
An American YouTuber, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, Donaldson is known for his large-scale stunts, challenges, and charitable giveaways.
He rose to fame for his creative and high-budget videos that often involve giving away large sums of money, cars, and even houses to strangers, friends, and fans. His content focuses on attention-grabbing social experiments, competitions, and philanthropic acts, such as funding food drives and building free housing.
As of 2025, MrBeast is the most-subscribed individual creator on YouTube, with more than 447 million subscribers, and his influence extends beyond the platform.
Donaldson has been involved in the cryptocurrency space since at least 2021. He invested in blockchain startups and purchased several high-value NFTs, including multiple CryptoPunks.Â
Blockchain analytics firms also linked wallets associated with the YouTuber to token launches that generated millions of dollars in profits, though some of the projects later faced criticism for speculative trading activity. He has also promoted crypto-related initiatives through his online platforms and collaborations.Â
Donaldsonâs environmental initiative, Team Trees, recently received a $3,420 donation in Solana from Filipino content creator Yskaela Fujimoto, who included the group among five charities benefiting from her $YSKA token rewards.
