Digital banking and fintech ecosystem Maya has reaffirmed its support for the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) by joining the agency’s “Scam Safe” initiative.
The collaboration aims to strengthen public awareness and improve understanding of online scams and cyber fraud affecting Filipino consumers.
Collaborative Defense

According to Maya, the partnership aligns with its broader cybersecurity strategy, which prioritizes consumer protection alongside platform safeguards.
Toff Rada, Maya Head of Corporate Affairs, emphasized the necessity of cross-sector cooperation in mitigating digital risks:
“We’re pleased to support initiatives like Scam Safe, which underscore the importance of partnerships in addressing cybersecurity challenges. Partnerships across government, finance, telcos, and technology are critical to educating the public, sharing best practices, and responding more effectively to evolving scam threats.”
Infrastructure and Education
Maya stated that it continues to invest in resilient infrastructure, real-time monitoring, and advanced risk controls to secure its platform. The company also employs a “security-by-design” approach in its product development to reinforce safe digital behavior across its payments, savings, and credit services.
Complementing these technical measures is “ScamPatrol,” Maya’s ongoing consumer education campaign. The initiative provides users with practical guidance on recognizing common fraud tactics and adopting safer digital habits to prevent victimization during daily transactions.
The fintech firm noted that its support for Scam Safe reflects its position that cybersecurity is a “shared responsibility” requiring sustained collaboration between the private sector, government agencies, and the public.
